Plywood: What's up on 10th Ave?

A few months ago, the old, decrepit Bar X Ave on the corner of 10th ave and 45th street shut down. For many weeks, it remained just as it had been the day it closed, like a sad, beer-soaked version of Miss Havisham's dining room.

But a week or two ago, green plywood went up all around the exterior, and there has been some serious gutwork going on inside. What will it be? Hopefully something better than a Pluck U...

A big, green mystery

I heard a craft beer bar is in the works. Just now, looking down from the rooftop of my apt (I live 45th & 10, just above Halo Berlin & 44/X) name of the bar looks to be "The Penny Bar", but can't find any juice online. Have you heard of anything?

Jesstom,

Yep-- apparently it's called "the Pony," and it's from the owners of Lansdowne Road. They're claiming they're a few weeks away from opening... check this out for more: http://lifewithfoodanddrink.blogspot.com/2009/01/update-pony-still-in-stables.html

Can't wait for the opening! I'll definitely pass along any updates as I get them...
